77th Floresville Peanut Festival FREE ADMISSION

Friday afternoon begins with a Kiddie Parade for children and their friends to show off their floats and costumes, with the winners invited to participate in the Big Parade on Saturday. Friday night features a Street Dance featuring local talent. Food concessions with the finest favorite festival foods, ranging from pizza to gorditas. Saturday is the grand party, beginning with the Floresville Peanut Festival Parade at 10:00 a.m. The day’s activities also include the annual raffle, arts and crafts vendors, various musical and dance groups, local talent, and various entertainment located on several stages around the peanut square and carnival — fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Tours of the Wilson County Historical Jailhouse Museum are available. Peanut products such as peanut brittle, homemade peanut butter, peanut cookies, roasted peanuts (shelled and salted), pies, and ice cream are all available to satisfy your peanut palate. The evening continues with a Street Dance provided by local talent. Food concessions remain open to quench your hunger and thirst.

Family Camp Out & Fishing Tournament Boerne Lake 8AM FREE

It’s the ONE time out of the year that we close the lake to the public and camp out! Kick back and relax!

You can start camping at 10:00 AM on Saturday. For those who want to participant, a fishing tournament will begin at 3:00 PM. You must register for fishing tournament on site. We’ll have prizes and raffles before dinner. What’s for dinner, you ask? Hot dogs and chips, on us. However, if you want to bring your own dinner, great! That’s what camping is all about. Breakfast will be ready at 8:00 AM Sunday morning.

Fest Of Tails is a free family-friendly kite festival and dog fair. This event welcomes kite and dog enthusiasts from near and far! All guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch the spectacular sky views and meet new furry friends. Fest Of Tails has events and activities for the entire family. To kick off the event, the City of San Antonio’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their annual Tree Adoption, where attendees can receive a FREE tree to take home and plant! The Animal Defense League will be hosting pet adoptions from 10am-2pm! All adoptions are same-day, so once you receive all the information you need and are all parties are prepared to move forward, you’re ready to take your new pup home and enjoy your happily fur-ever after. For all dog enthusiasts, pet products, treats, and clothing will be available for purchase. Information on pet registration, vaccinations, rescues, and more, will also be available through various participating animal welfare organizations and businesses.

As always, Fest Of Tails is 100% FREE to the public! We encourage families to bring the kids & the pups and come enjoy a day of family fun in the park! The event is free, all-ages, and open to the public.

Health officials said there is not enough blood on hand to treat trauma cases and patients who need emergency surgeries and procedures. The facilities are open during daylight hours. Same-day appointments and walk-in donations are being accepted. Officials said donors can call 210-731-5590 for information or to make an appointment, or they can visit SouthTexasBlood.org.
