WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. — Actor Jeremy Renner was injured Sunday morning while plowing snow, according to authorities and a representative for the actor.

Update 8:30 a.m. EST Jan. 2: Officials with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Sunday night that Renner was flown to a hospital after he was injured in Reno.

He was the only person involved in the incident, and deputies are investigating, officials said in a news release.

The extent of “The Avenger” star’s injuries was not immediately known. A representative for Renner told The Associated Press that he was seriously injured while plowing snow. He was in critical but stable condition on Sunday, according to the AP.

Original report: A spokesperson confirmed to Variety that Renner was involved in a “weather-related accident” while he was plowing snow Sunday.

The spokesperson also confirmed that Renner is in “critical but stable condition,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. The spokesperson added that Renner is recovering with his family.

Deadline reported that Renner was airlifted Sunday to the hospital.

Variety said that the location of the accident has not been confirmed. According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, Renner has a house in Washoe County, Nevada. The newspaper reported that, on New Year’s Eve, the area had heavy snowfall due to a storm.

Renner has been nominated for two Oscars, including a supporting actor nomination for “The Town” and a best actor nomination for “The Hurt Locker,” according to Variety. He has starred in several Marvel projects as Clint Barton/Hawkeye since “Thor” came out in 2011.

Renner is currently starring as Mike McLusky in Paramont+’s “Mayor of Kingstown,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
