Kitty becomes unofficial partner at San Antonio H-E-B
Zuko ‘works’ in the Texas Backyard department outside the store
The H-E-B plus! at Loop 1604 and Potranco has been frequented by a cat who started visiting the grocery store sometime in 2020. Store manager Serenity Hernandez told MySA that Zuko showed up about six months ago near the garden center. According to H-E-B spokesperson Julie Bedingfield, the female feline has been named Zuko by the H-E-B partner who is adopting her. Abraham, Zuko’s new owner, said he named her after a character in “Avatar: The Last Airbender” because she bears resemblance to a character in the show who has an eye patch.
Zuko likes to lounge around the Texas Backyard department outside the store and recently gave birth to four kittens.”Three were adopted by H-E-B partners and one was adopted by a customer,” Bedingfield said. “While she isn’t an official H-E-B Partner, she is now part of the H-E-B family.”

Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias filming new Netflix special in S.A. - and it’s about time
As if four weeks of shows isn’t enough, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is filming his next Netflix comedy special right here in San Antonio. Iglesias announced that his recently announced Netflix special will be filmed on his last night performing at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on July 17. The comedian made the announcement about the special, titled “The Comedy Event,” via Variety.
“This is the longest time I’ve been away from my fans in decades,” Iglesias told the publication. “Since I realized how much I miss and need all my fans around the world. I’m waxed and vaxed, ready to return to the stage.” While fans of the comic were already excited to see Fluffy live and in person, hence the four weeks of shows, Iglesias’ decision to film the Netflix special – his third, thank you very much – is a meaningful one. Though he’s a California dude, born in San Diego and raised in Los Angeles, it’s undeniable that Iglesias has a special connection with San Antonio. Perhaps it helps that he’s good friends with native and comedian Rick Gutierrez, who has actually opened up for him in the past. It might just be that he’s Mexican-American like a majority of the Alamo City. Or maybe it’s because he’s, well, fluffy like so many locals. In a way, it feels like Fluffy is coming home.
