Columbus police officials said that officers were called shortly after 5 p.m. Friday to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where Turner’s young son was being treated for gunshot wounds to his knees.

“Detectives determined that the 5-year-old was lying on the couch next to his mother,” an incident report states. “Ms. Turner, who was intoxicated, was pointing her handgun at several adults in the home, making threats.”
