Tennessee woman charged with child abuse after using stun gun on 8-year-old son

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — A Johnson City, Tennessee, woman is facing multiple charges after admitting to using a stun gun on her 8-year-old son.

Christina Johnson, 28, was charged Wednesday with child abuse and false reporting, WCYB reported.

According to the TV station, the use of the device left the child with a visible injury, prompting an investigation by the state’s Department of Children’s Services.

Johnson initially denied any knowledge of her son being injured, then told investigators her son used the device on himself. She eventually admitted to police that she used the stun gun on her son, WJHL reported.

Johnson is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $6,000 bond, according to WCYB.
