According to WJAR and WLNE, North Providence police on Monday arrested Xariel Olivo, 23, of Providence, on assault and battery, weapons and disorderly conduct charges in connection with the confrontation, which occurred around noon Thursday.

The woman told officers that she was driving on Admiral Street when another vehicle cut her off, WLNE reported. After she honked, the other driver blocked her car and walked up to the vehicle carrying a sword, the woman told police.

“I was so scared, and he had this sword the size of my lower body,” she told WLNE.

The woman’s boyfriend, who was a passenger in her car, began recording as the other driver pounded on her window, she told WLNE. She said the man eventually fled when he realized he was on camera, WJAR reported.

Olivo was later arraigned in connection with the incident and is slated to appear in court again on Aug. 15, according to WJAR.
