NEW YORK — A celebrity sommelier with a stake in a popular Lower Manhattan wine bar is facing a litany of criminal charges, including arson.
Fire officials announced Wednesday the arrest of Caleb Ganzer on two felony arson counts and several other crimes linked to three fires, The New York Times reported.
Ganzer, 35, was named Food and Wine Magazine’s Sommelier of the Year in 2017 and is part owner of La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, WABC reported.
In addition to being charged with starting a fire, captured on surveillance video, at a structure belonging to Prince Street Pizza just before 3 a.m. on July 13, Ganzer is also accused of starting a trash fire at the corner of Broome and Centre Streets in June and of torching a dining shed outside Forsythia restaurant, the Times reported.

No injuries linked to the fires were reported, the outlet reported.
“We as the company are aware of the incident, and Mr. Ganzer is on a leave of absence,” La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels said in a prepared statement.
