A massive wildfire that has ravaged Bastrop County since Sunday is about 30 percent contained as of Wednesday morning, a Texas Forest Service official said. The fire has burned about 34,000 acres and destroyed 550 as of Tuesday night, the official said. According to the Texas Forest Service, most of the forward progress of the fire has stopped, but significant intense burning continues in the interior.
