The second annual San Antonio Book Festival, San Antonio’s focal point for the literary arts, is a free, daylong family-friendly event held in downtown San Antonio. Over 70 acclaimed national and regional authors, representing some of the best new books that publishers have to offer, will entertain, educate and inspire book lovers of all ages and interests while discussing their latest work and signing books.
In addition to author presentations, participants will enjoy book sales and signings, a literary marketplace, recipe demonstrations from cookbook authors, food truck fare, live music and interactive educational/art activities for families and children. Educational non-profits, book sellers, publishers and community groups are encouraged to sponsor booths in the exhibitor tent to promote their services.
The San Antonio Book Festival is a program of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. It was first presented in April 2013 in partnership with the Texas Book Festival, the San Antonio Public Library and Southwest School of Art. Through active partnerships with school districts and community organizations focused on literacy, education and culture, the Festival connects with educators, parents and students, pre-K through college. Free for attendees and open to all. Festival goers are encouraged to bring cash for exhibitor booths, food trucks and beverage vendors. There is plenty of free and paid parking available at downtown lots and on the street.
