During the academic year, 20 semi-finalist student groups are selected to receive $2,500 to start their projects. Projects must fall into one of five categories: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health & Wellness or Uniformed Services.Over the course of the year, Silver & Black Give Back supports these students' projects by providing volunteers, mascots and players to assist with their project, connecting groups to community partners, and leading students and captains in workshops designed to improve leadership and communication skills.Students get to share their projects online as part of the Team Up Challenge online voting campaign in the spring. During the 2012-2013 year, over 56,000 votes were cast!In April, student representatives present their projects to the review committee and five champions are selected to receive $20,000 each for their work improving our community. To learn more about the program visit www.teamupchallenge.com.
