Tribes from across the country will gather in San Antonio to share their traditions at a FREE pow wow, open to the public. Drumming, dancing, singing and native prayers will be led by Osage, Navajo, Cherokee and Crow. Vendors will display native arts and crafts and attendees can sample hand made Indian fry bread and tacos made by the Tap Pilam Coahuitecans. United San Antonio Pow Wow is a non-profit charted organization whose purpose is to promote the traditions and culture of the American Indian and enlighten the non-Indian about the history and culture of the Native Americans. American Indians in Texas, a sponsor of the Pow Wow, is dedicated to work for the preservation and protection of the culture and traditions of indigenous people through education, research, community outreach, economic development and legislative initiatives.
