\nWe will cap the tournament at 100 teams.
The first Saturday in June is fish with out a license day. Adults \nfishing in this tournament are not required to carry a fishing license \nwhile participating in this tournament.
\nThe goal of the Child/Adult Team Fishing Tournament is to provide a free opportunity to introduce the sport of fishing to children as well as \ncreate a safe environment for parents and children to enjoy the outdoors together.
\nFishing equipment will available to check out on a first come first serve basis at no cost.
Tournament Rules Team Qualifications: Each \nteam must have a member who is 18 or older on or before the tournament \ndate, and one member who is 17 or younger on or before the tournament \ndate. There can only be two (2) people per team. Team categories are as \nfollows: Child 8 & Under Adult 18 or older Child 9-12 Adult 18 or older Child 13-17 Adult 18 or older Identification will be needed if age is protested or questioned so please have it available.
Pre Registration: Pre registration is encouraged. There will be a cut off size of 100 teams. Check in: 8:15 -9:00am There will be an informal meeting at 9:00am the morning of the event to go over rules and fishing technique.Entry Forms and Fees: This tournament is FREE to the public. A team entry form will need to be submitted online prior to the event. Tournament Times: Teams can begin fishing at 9:00am, and final weigh in will begin at 12:00pm. Please check in at the tournament table to confirm your team?s registration before you begin fishing. Fish caught before 9:00am or after 12:00pm will not be eligible for \njudging. In order for a fish to be eligible for judging it must be alive! Winners will be announced at the event and on the Parks & Recreation Website on the Monday following the tournament. Tackle and Equipment: Live, \ndead and artificial bait will be permitted. Each team member will be \nallowed to have and use one pole at a time. It is illegal to use the \nfollowing fishing methods in Boerne City Lake: trot lines, jug lines, \nthrow-lines. Please use fishing poles or cane poles in this tournament \nonly, no nets or traps or any other method may be used in this \ntournament. If you would like to participate but don?t own poles, reels, bait etc. we will have equipment to borrow on a first-come first-serve \nbasis. Fishing Location: For \nthis tournament teams will be allowed to fish off the bank, fishing \npier, or by wade fishing in the water of Boerne City Lake. Personal \nwatercraft will be allowed in the lake for the fishing tournament. \nChildren wear a life jacket while in the water or in a boat. Safety is \nour #1 priority! Fishing Laws: This tournament will adhere to all State (TPWD) fishing rules. For TPWD rules go to http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fish/infish/regulate/all.htm A Fishing License or Stamp isn?t needed as June 6 is the annual Free \nFishing day in Texas. Fish size must be legal in order to be eligible \nfor judging. Catch and Release: All fish must be released after judging. Fish brought to Judges table will \nbe released back into the lake after weighing and measuring. Judging: Categories for judging are as follows: In each age class:
- Largest Perch/Sun Fish.
- Most Fish
All legal fish must be brought to the Judges table and recorded. You must be in line to be judged by 12:00pm for the fish to be \neligible for tournament. All judges? decisions are final. Ties: In the case of a tie \nin length the winning team will be determined by weight. In the case of a tie for the most fish category, the total weight of the fish caught \nwill determine the winner. Prizes: Winners that \nare not present at he event will be contacted on Monday after the \ntournament and can pick up their trophies at the Parks & Recreation \nAdministrative office at 1017 Adler Rd during regular business hours. \n8am-5pm. Water Craft:. Please \nindicate on your registration form or contact Boerne Parks & \nRecreation in advance if you plan to fish from some type of watercraft. \nPlease note that trailers will need to park in the Special Event \nOverflow Parking area which will be marked on the day of the event.
