Bar Rojo at the Grand Hyatt will celebrate Valentine’s in grand style Tuesday, February 12, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., including a pet trivia contest featuring questions of the furry kind, so brush up and flaunt your knowledge of all things animal to claim prizes during “Tail Trivia,” a trivia contest where all of the questions are tied to the pets that steal our hearts. Dave Rios of KONO 101 FM will emcee the trivia contest, aided by his trusty four-legged sidekick Scout. The Grand Hyatt welcomes pets and their owners alike to attend —Tail Trivia is a team sport, so make Valentine’s a group celebration with everyone you love. Guests can enjoy complimentary sushi selections, drink specials and if you’re looking for love this Valentine’s Day, Must Love Pets will spotlight the Grand Hyatt’s Community Partner, the San Antonio Humane Society. Featuring eligible singles looking for “furever” love, the San Antonio Humane Society will bring some of its adorable and adoptable pups for you to cuddle and coo over. To mark the occasion, a photo booth with fun Valentine-themed pet costumes will be onsite providing complimentary printed photos and frames of your furry friends. Bar Rojo, or Red Bar, Grand Hyatt San Antonio’s signature nightspot, features the perfect environment for Valentine’s: a casual-yet-upscale lounge experience featuring high-end specialty drinks, classic cocktails and comfortable oversized seating in a dramatic red décor. To put everything in the perfect light for Cupid, “El Corazon” (Spanish for “the heart”), a hand-blown glass chandelier that serves as center of the bar, will make your heart skip a beat with its beautiful red glow. With complimentary sushi, happy hour drink prices and furry snuggles, guests are sure to enjoy the evening as much as their pets enjoy belly rubs. The celebration features Bar Rojo’s unique Sansei Sushi menu, combining Latin American influences and ingredients with traditional Japanese sushi preparation techniques and culture. Happy Hour guests can sample items such as Sashimi, Nigiri or unusual Maki such as the Bar Rojo Roll with its combinations of Jalapeno-Cilantro Spicy Tuna, Jicama, Cucumber and Flying Fish Roe, topped with Avocado Crema. Must Love Pets will include a full cash bar and will feature a special drink for the evening, “Love Potion #K-9, a cocktail made with Stoli Raspbery, Triple Sec, cranberry juice and raspberry sorbet. The drink is served in a chilled, sugar-rimmed martini glass.
