Some sad news for "Star Trek" legend Leonard Nimoy, he has a serious lung disease.

Apparently reacting to stories  from publications reporting he was using a wheelchair and an oxygen tube in his nose, he tweeted:

COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and is said to be caused by smoking.  

Nimoy followed up that first tweet with:

Nimoy, who portrayed the half-human half-Vulcan Spock on the original Star Trek TV series from 1966-1969, signed each tweet with the abbrevation of a phrase made popular by his character that has become his signature quote,  "Live Long And Prosper."
